Staying Strong and Not giving up

Posted by nkaiya lakay little on Wednesday, April 8, 2015, In : Suicide Prevention
“Staying strong and not giving up” In general that is a rather tough topic because everyone is different so I guess I am just going to try to discuss the main things and kind of pull from that, one of the biggest things to me is curiosity. You know, we got through all of this struggle and pain , but it cant be for nothing and we will never know what the reason is if we give up and our life will basically have been pointless. Imagen walking sevnty miles to see someone important, not kno...

Chain Links

Posted by nkaiya lakay little on Wednesday, April 8, 2015, In : Recovery

Start a chain-link and add a link to it everyday you don’t self-harm, hang it up if possible
to make this you need scissors, paper (colorful is best), and glue/tape

to make a chain link you cut a strip of paper and tape/glue the ends together

in order to attach them together close it around the previous one

an interesting way to do it is to have 2 colors of paper, for each day you have an urge but do not self harm put up one color and for every day you don’t even have an urge put up the other...

The Calm Jar

Posted by nkaiya lakay little on Wednesday, April 8, 2015, In : Calming down

I got all of this online at http://butterflies-for-beauties.tumblr.com/calm-jar-project so no credit to me

A calm jar is just an ordinary jar that has glitter inside. People mostly make these to make little children calmer.
The point of a calm jar it to shake it up, then watch the glitter fall down. While you’re watching, your thoughts will become calmer. Trust me, it works like a charm! :)

This is my own little recipe on how to make a glitter jar. You’ll need glitter, glitter glue, a jar wi...

Bracelets

Posted by nkaiya lakay little on Wednesday, April 8, 2015, In : Recovery
This is similar to the butterfly project, but in a different perspective. For everyone that wants you to recover you make a bracelet to represent them and you  them and you wear the bracelets always, every time you think of cutting you will see the bracelets and think of them, all of those people who believe in you and care about you.  Add one for me!

The Subconcious Project

Posted by nkaiya lakay little on Wednesday, April 8, 2015, In : Recovery

Whenever you feel the need to self harm (in anyway) write down that you did self harm on paper. Tell yourself that you self-harmed.  Write as much as you can about the self-harming you “did”   over time it becomes truthful to you, and you start to believe that you really did self-harm. This is do to a subconscious train of thought. We only know the stuff we know because we were taught it. Like that “it hurts to get a shot” if you tell yourself enough (as well as tell others even ) tha...

The Butterfly Project

Posted by nkaiya lakay little on Wednesday, April 8, 2015, In : Recovery
1. when you feel like you want to cut, take a marker or pen and draw a butterfly on wherever the self-harm occurs.
2. name the butterfly after a loved one, or someone that really wants you to get better.
3. Scrubbing the butterfly off is against the rules
4. if you cut before the butterfly is gone, it dies. if you don’t cut, it lives.
5. if you have more than one, cutting kills them all.
6. another person may draw them on you. these butterflies are extra special. take good care of them.
